Join us for our Beginning Quilting Class taught by the Appletree Quilting Center Staff. Learn all the basics needed to create this wonderful throw sized quilt. From choosing your fabric; to pressing, to cutting, to piecing and all the tricks in between to piece a perfect block. Learn how to set the blocks and add mitered borders and what pitfalls to avoid. Then finish by machine quilting and binding. This is the perfect class to start your quilting journey, or just brush up on some of your skills. This class meets 8 times over a span of 11 weeks with notebook and pattern included.

This project is a medium sized tote with boxed corners, zipper closure and zipper pockets. We will work on fabric prep, making a zipper pocket, slip pocket, attaching handles and a zipper closure.

We are making a useful fanny pack in one of three sizes. This bag has an outer zipper pocket. It has an adjustable strap allowing both waist and crossbody wear.

This is a stylist hobo bag designed with minimal details. We will work on fabric prep, shape the top of the bag and apply a zipper closure, create the base and assemble strap connectors and strap, make a slip pocket and zipper pocket in lining and add additional hardware and embellishments.

This is a mild to moderately challenging bag for everyday use with convenient side pockets for small essentials. We will work on fabric prep, adding shape, creating handles, making interior slip pockets, assembling pleated side and zipper pockets, attaching a base and zipper closure.

Whether you display this at Christmas or Easter, this stunning church window tiling scene will become a beautiful family heirloom to pass on through the years. This OESD design is made up of 32 individual tiles that are created with a combination of applique and fill embroidery with some Organza thrown in for fun. Deb will show you how to create tiles and share some fun tips for putting them all together.

Use your embroidery machine to decorate the fabric of your choice to make a set of napkins. You will learn to use your rolled hem foot for a perfect finish on those edges. These napkins will look great on your table or will make the perfect gift.

We will explore making and attaching quilt labels to your quilts. Labels will be created using either Embroidery Digitizing Software -OR- using the built-in functions of your sewing machine.

We will learn how to create a bowl from rope and embroider a cute snowman in the bottom. We will be adding fabric strips to put some color in the sides of the bowl. Special attention will be given to the beginning the bowl, turning it to form the sides and finishing the handles and top edge. We will discuss tips for choosing the best embroidery designs for rope bowls. The class fee includes design.

Join Susan to help deepen your understanding about color. This will make you more confident about your color choices in your quilting. Then we will construct several simple blocks using the three variables of color and value.

This striking three-yard quilt is created by strip piecing a single block in two color ways. The magic happens when the block is rotated. This is a great quilt for a beginner or anyone who needs a quilt in a hurry. This pattern can be expanded to any size you would like.

This is the easiest quilt to make! Select several of our cotton flannels and we will pre-cut and pre-fringe the blocks for you. All you have do is sew the blocks together! The magic happens when you wash and dry the quilt allowing the prefringed seam allowances to bloom. Class fee includes us precutting and fringing your fabric for you.

Create a fun quilt using the accuquilt Go! Cutting System along with the 2 1/2? strip die to cut into squares. Then we will assemble into 8? blocks. Deb will show you her tricks for nesting seams to get that flatter top.

This class combines simple curved piecing with zone piecing where you make one section of the quilt at a time. It?s a lot like putting a jigsaw puzzle together!

A fun variation of the pineapple block. Can be scrappy or a planned colorway. Foundation paper piecing is utilized so it requires little to no fabric waste and very little trimming as you go.

Gather 20 precut 2 1/2-inch strips, then choose your background and accent colors. Easy and quick corner tringles make the square in a square separator unit of the strips. The strips will then be combined to create a bargello effect.
