Planning Guide

There are some aspects to consider when planning your sewing area. The following questions will help us determine what is best for you.

1.) What do you sew? Quilt? Embroider? Serge?

2.) Do you sew large projects?

3.) Do you need to put your machine away?

4.) Does your sewing area cohabitate in another room?

5.) Do you keep projects in containers?

6.) do you need a Project Cutting Area?



Machine & Equipment Requirement

1.) What Brand & Model is your Primary Sewing Machine?

2.) Do you have more than 1 sewing machine?
          What other Brands & Models?


3.) Do you have a serger?
          What is the Brand & Model?


4.) Do you use a computer with your sewing machine?
          Desktop -or- Laptop


5.) Do you use a printer?

6.) Do you need storage? Bookcase? Drawers? Others?


Know Your Space Limitations

1.) Measures the space you have to work with & draw it on a piece of paper. (1 inch = 1 foot).

2.) Note any windows and doors, height and width.

3.) Note any existing furniture.

4.) Note all electrical outlets as well as all telephone & cable outlets.

5.) Note any floor heat registers.

6.) Measures your sewing height.**

**Sit at your sewing chair, with feet flat on the ground, put your arms down at your side. You will need someone to measure the distance from the floor to your elbows.
